I’ve always hated the bended knee. Demeans you both. Other thing that annoys me is that you are supposed to expect an instant reply. I mean they’ve got to think about it before they asked, you’re meant to know already. Should be a bloody conversation. Always told myself if I was proposed to I’d kneel down next to them, look them straight in the eye and say “I’ll think about it, then we can talk”.

Which is what I did.

Then we split up, but not for 18 months after and we’re still friends… maybe I should do a post on how to say no nicely.
